Sal de Maple

A tiny but mighty brunch spot located in the heart of Tijuana, Mexico. Sal de Maple recently opened its doors to the public and I can proudly say it is now one of my favorite brunch spots in Tijuana. As I mentioned earlier, it is a small place so I wouldn't show up with a group of 10+ people. The thing that I loved about it was that it was very intimate which makes it the perfect place for a date, a brunch with your close group of friends, or even your mom.

I came here with my mom after it was recommended to me by a couple of friends. Whenever we go out together, we get to main plates and share them. This time we decided to get the Red Chilaquiles and the French Toast Waffle for dessert.

The chilaquiles were amazing!! The ingredient that made them great was the sauce. It was unlike any other typical red sauce you can usually find on Chilaquiles. Another thing that made them that much better was the crunchiness of the chips. Clearly the presentation (as beautiful as it is) doesn't do these justice.

Clearly I saved the best for last. One thing you should all now about me is that I am a sugar addict. I love everything sweet no matter how many calories it might have. My dessert option from Sal De Maple was the French Toast Waffle. I picked this because it sounded unique since when you think about French Toast your mind automatically jumps to toast. It was topped with ricotta cheese, strawberries, and blueberries and it was just a perfect ensemble. If you leave here wondering which of the two recommendations you should get I would 100% go for the French Toast Waffle!
